S’more goodness at Walt Disney World
Yes. This is a dedicated post to a year round dessert that is simple in nature but never overrated. You might also be wondering, what does a S’more have to do with Walt Disney World? Read on my friend. I’m here to introduce the free marshmellows offering, an optional s’more kit, and the best s’more you’ll find on Disney World property.
First things first: Free marshmellows.
Look, you’re not going to get a lot of free at Walt Disney World. As a Disney Adult and Disney Travel Agent, I get it. However, if you stay at a Walt Disney World resort, there is a fantastic chance you can roast unlimited marshmellows for free in the evening as most resorts provide this offering. The resort cast members supply pre-packaged marshmellows, the fire pit, and roasting sticks.
When my husband and I went to Disney in November, we had the chance to talk to the cast member leading the roasting. She let us know that Disney’s cast member safety training for this activity is intensive. They undergo more safety training than a lifeguard, she stated. While you’re participating in the activity, they will be announcing their safety rules frequently to ensure marshmellow sword fights don’t break out.
Now, pay attention to this little detail that I saw many people get disappointed by and made them walk away. On the cart, there is a sign advertising a s’mores kit. It is 100% misleading because it does make you think you have to buy the kit to participate. You do NOT have to purchase the kit to roast the marshmellows. Simply walk up to that cart and ask to roast marshmellows only and they’ll provide you with the pre-portioned bag.
The s’mores kit is fun if you’re dying for a full, gourmet s’more experience complete with a Mickey-shaped Graham cracker, but be prepared to pay $6 for it. (For those parents or individuals with the tendency to lose their marshmellow to the fire: If you drop the deluxe marshmellow in the fire pit, the cast member is likely to replace it with another s’mores kit.)
The resort s’more kit is tasty, but here’s the main reason I wanted to make this post:
People are sleeping on The Ganachery at Disney Springs.
It’s right around the corner from Gideon’s cookies, and tbh? The cookies are great if it’s your first Disney Springs trip and you want to be a part of the Gideon’s cookie club. However, the Artisanal S’mores at the Ganachery are so. much. better. You’ll watch the chocolatier assemble your s’more with their housemade chocolate, toasted marshmellow, and melted chocolate sheet on a perfectly textured graham cracker.
