Understanding Disney’s Disability Access Service Pass

When Planning for Disney vacation, it’s fun to research the hotels, the dining options, and all the rides and shows you’ll want to experience. That’s where a lot of your magical moments and memories will happen! However, it’s only fair to point out that the biggest factor many aren’t as excited to plan for are the lines.

Let’s be honest. Mentally prepping for potentially long lines during your magical vacation is hard, and for those who have underlying conditions or have a family member with an underlying condition? The lines can make a Disney vacation seem impossible. For guests with genuine concerns about their or their loved one’s ability to stand in long lines, let me introduce you to Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) pass.

What is It?
Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) Pass is an accommodation for guests with conditions who may need extra support for withstanding long queues during their visit to a Disney theme park. The Walt Disney Company wants to ensure guests with needs are able to experience the magic for themselves and have put the DAS system in place to alleviate some of the potential concerns and difficulties.

Who Qualifies?
While it is up to the Disney Cast Members to determine if your needs meet the criteria, those who qualify typically have an existing, medical condition that impacts their physical, mental, and/or emotional abilities to cope with long lines.

How Can I Apply?
To apply for the DAS pass, you have 2 registration options: online via a virtual meeting or in-person at Guest Relations on your first park day. I personally always recommend registering online for a virtual meeting so everything is in place prior to your vacation! During the virtual meeting, a Disney Cast Member will discussion some information with you to determine if you or your love one qualifies. Once you are approved for the DAS pass, you’ll be able to preselect 2 return times for rides! The DAS Pass starts on the first park day, and remains active for up to 60 days.

Magical Tip: Disney has a limited number of pre-reserved for DAS guests, so if there’s a specific ride you may want to select ahead of time, it’s better to do it as close to the 30 day mark as possible!

Who Needs to Be Present on the Call?
The guest with the concern/condition must be present on the call. For minors, the leading parent or guardian on the reservation must be on the call as well.

How Does It Work?
Once the DAS Pass has been attached to your account, you’ll be able to make ride reservations either at the Lightning Lane entrances OR on the My Disney Experience (MDE) App on your park days. When walking by the ride, the Cast Member at the entrance of the Lightning Lane will be able to apply the DAS reservation to your account. Additionally, guests are able to make their own selection through the MDE app by finding the ride on the Tip Board, selecting the View Details option on the the Standby Line Tab, and then requesting the DAS return time on the following page. Many find it easier to utilize the MDE app during their park day, as it helps them use time and energy more efficiently.

Magical Tip: For DAS ride selections in the park, you will always get a return time that matches the Standby line MINUS 10 minutes. Example: If Peter Pan’s Flight has a standby line of 45 minutes, your DAS return time will be 35 minutes.

Can I Use More Than One DAS at a Time?
No. Similarly to Genie+, you must use your current DAS ride reservation before you can book another one.

Do I have a Limited Return Time Window?
No! Once the ride return window opens, you can return to the ride whenever you are able. Unlike Genie+, the return window does not expire for that day – keeping in mind you cannot make another DAS reservation until this reservation has been used.

Which Attractions apply for the DAS Pass?
You can find a list HERE

Can a SMT Travel Agent Get the Pass for Me?
Unfortunately not. When applying for this service, the guest/guest’s family must seek this service pass independently. However! We are here to answer any questions and help you navigate your My Disney Experience App to make sure you are able to effectively use your DAS Pass and any Genie+, Virtual Queues, or Lightning Lanes during your park days!

Where Can I Register Online?
You can start the registration process HERE.

If you have any follow-up questions, please know that you can use me as a resource to ask questions. I will answer to the best of my ability! Creating magical memories at Walt Disney World is accessible for all.
